Book Traveling Thursdays – A Book That Made Me Smile

 Yay! Another meme! Book Traveling Thursdays is a weekly meme created and hosted by Cátia @ The Girl Who Read To Much and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. Each week, Cátia and Danielle pick a certain bookish theme, and your job is to find a book that fits this theme and include the original cover, the cover from your country, your favorite, and your least favorite cover. This week’s theme is,“Tomorrow is World Smile Day! Choose a book that made you smile.”

For this topic, I chose the first book that came to mind, which was Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins! No surprises there. Stephanie Perkins is one of my favorite authors, and her books are all so adorable and hilarious and just down-right amazing! If you haven’t checked out any of her books yet, you definitely should.

Original Cover:

A lot of people like this cover the best, for reasons unheard of to me, but it’s actually one of my least favorite. I don’t think the font matches the cover very well, and I’m not a huge fan of the image on the cover either.

Cover From My Country (United States):

I love this cover so much! The colors they used look so pretty together, which goes well with the simplistic font. I also love the view of the Eiffel Tower in the background. This was the cover that first caught my eye in the bookstore, and I’m so glad it did!

Favorite Cover:

This cover is so adorable, and I feel like it matches the themes of the book perfectly! The color scheme is beautiful, and the font goes real well with it.

Least Favorite Covers:

      

   

None of these covers are completely awful (I’ve seen worse), but they’re all pretty bad. The fonts all seem ugly and out of place, in my opinion. I especially dislike the second cover, because, ew. I’d rather leave that scene for myself to imagine while reading the book, instead of every single time I glance at this book on my bookshelf, thank you very much. I can easily imagine countless tweens and teens getting scared off by the images on these covers, and I certainly don’t blame them.
