Top 10 Book Characters and Their Favorite Halloween Candies

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted atย The Broke and the Bookish.

This week’s topic was a Halloween-themed freebie, so I decided to have some fun! For my post today, I paired some of my favorite book characters with what I think their favorite Halloween candy would be based on their personality.

Celaena Sardothien (Throne of Glass) — Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate.

It actually did mention in the book that she LOVED candy, and chocolate was her favorite kind. Celaena is an amazing, loyal friend, and has quite the unique personality. Plus, she just seems like a chocolate person in general!

Anna Oliphant (Anna and the French Kiss) — Cotton Candy!

Anna is such an amazing character, and she has such a bubbly, fun, humorous personality! Cotton candy would be a great match for her.

Alaska Young (Looking for Alaska) — Jolly Ranchers

I’m not sure I can do much explaining on this one – Alaska just seems like a Jolly Ranchers kind of person.

Theodore Finch (All the Bright Places) — Sour Gummy Worms

I love Finch so much as a character, and sour gummy worms also happen to be one of my favorite candies. At first, Finch seems really removed and sour, but he turns out to be really sweet and amazing. I can totally imagine Finch loving this kind of candy!

Stargirl (Stargirl) — Starbursts

Okay, this one should be pretty obvious – it’s even in her name! Stargirl is my favorite book character of all time, and she has such an outgoing, unique, genuine personality that reminds me a lot of this candy.

Harry Potter (Harry Potter series) — Honeydukes

Okay, I just had to include this one, because seriously, who doesn’t love Harry Potter?! His favorite candy would be Honeydukes, not because I think it matches his personality, but because it actually states this in the books.

Ben (Paper Towns) — Laffy Taffy

Oh my goodness, Ben is one of my favorite characters ever. He is so goofy, awkward, and sweet, and I seriously wish I could be besties with him. His hilarious personality definitely reminds me of Laffy Taffy!

Hazel Grace (The Fault In Our Stars) — Almond Joy

Once again, I don’t really have any genuine reason for giving her this candy. Hazel just seems like the type of person who would love Almond Joy.

Cather Avery (Fangirl) — Nerds!

Seriously, isn’t this just perfect? Cath is a bit of a geek and can be really awkward at times, but she’s such an adorable and unique character! She is also really passionate about some things (like, BOOKS, for instance. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ), and she doesn’t let what other people think bother her.

Greg (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) — Swedish Fish

Greg is a really nerdy, unique, fun character, but he sometimes just wants to blend in. I can definitely picture Greg eating Swedish Fish, and it’s such a funny image – but it makes so much sense!

Well, that was fun! What did you think of the matches I made? Do you agree with me? Disagree? Either way, I would love to hear from you in the comments! Also, please feel free to post the link to your TTT down below so I’m sure to check it out! ๐Ÿ™‚
