1-Year Blogoversary! *cue happy-dancing*

First of all, I guess you guys should know that it’s not my actual blogoversary. The exact date I started this blog was August 16th, 2015, but I figured today was close enough.

To all of you wonderful people who are still willing to take the time to read my posts, THANK YOU SO MUCH! I know I haven’t been the most consistent blogger in the world in the last few months, so it means the world to me that you guys still value my content and what I have to say.

If you’re wondering why I’ve been so absent in the last couple months, most of it is, as you might have guessed, time. Or, more accurately, a lack of time. I won’t go into details, but I feel like I’m going to have a lot more time in the future to do more writing and blogging, which I’m incredibly grateful for. I’ve really, really missed it.

You can also probably tell by my post so far that I’m definitely out of practice with my writing. It will probably take a few more posts, but by then, I’ll have (hopefully) gotten into the flow of things.

And now, for the main part of this post, I just want to give you all a huge thank you. Each and every one of you puts a smile on my face every day, and I’m so incredibly grateful for that. Blogging has played such a huge role in my life over the past year – even though I might not have shown it in the last couple months – and, as cliche as it sounds, blogging has become a part of me, a part of me that I couldn’t have imagined my life without.

So, thank you to everyone who liked, commented or followed my blog. Thank you to those of you who sent me thoughtful emails – it truly made my day. Thank you to those who even just stumbled onto this page by accident – I really appreciate you making it this far into this post. I’m not one to care too much about stats and pageviews and whatnot, but it still manages to astound me when someone across the world cares enough to take the time to read my posts.

On a more personal note, I’ve had a few tough times in the past year, as I’m sure you all did. Blogging was my outlet during these tough times, my secret space on the internet, and it’s helped me get through so much. I’ve changed an incredible amount in the past year, but one thing has stayed my constant – the blogosphere. No matter how many days I decide not to write a post, no matter how few comments I post some days, you guys are always there for me. Posting the simplest of comments on one of my posts might seem like no big deal to you, but it means the world to me. It shows me that somewhere in the world, someone truly cares about what I have to say. I honestly could never have gotten through the last year without your guys’ support and generosity.

I know this post may have gotten a bit rambly, and maybe a bit repetitive, but I’ll definitely be working on this in the future. Just know that I love and appreciate you all so much, and I’m so incredibly happy to be back in this wonderful community!

100 Followers! Wait…..What?!

image1-1

Oh my goodness gracious, I don’t even know where to begin. It seemed like only yesterday that I wrote my first post on this blog. I’ve been watching my follower count slowly increase, day by day, until finally…..I reached 100 followers! This might not seem like that big of a deal, but it made me SO HAPPY. Thank you so much to anyone and everyone who has taken time out of your day to follow, comment on, or simply visit my blog….it means SO MUCH to me. Sure, “liking” a post is great and everything, but for someone to take the time to read and even comment on something I spent so much time and energy on is truly amazing. The phrase, “quality over quantity” comes to mind when I think about about follower counts, because on one hand, there’s people who follow your blog because they like reading your posts and value YOUR opinion, and on the other hand, there’s people who follow your blog just to try to get you to follow it, and don’t really care about reading your posts, they just click the “like” button. And you, my dear readers, are definitely “good quality followers.”

Three months ago, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life, which was to start this blog. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I never realized how big of a commitment blogging was, and how much time and energy bloggers spent on each and every post.

Thank you for not only following this blog, but valuing my opinion. For discussing books with me. For helping me find my next great read. It might not seem like that big of a deal, but every time someone likes or comments on my posts puts a HUGE smile on my face. You all have made this blog a lovely place to be, and I’m SO thankful for that. The blogging community is like a second home to me, and I can always count on you guys to cheer me up when I’m feeling upset – whether it’s by discussing books with me, leaving a lovely comment, or just visiting my little corner of the internet.

Anyway, thanks again for being so supportive of my blog, and I look forward to interacting and discussing books with you in the future! This is such an amazing community to be a part of! ❤
